Commercial Description:
Brewed at our stadium location Elysian Fields brewery in Seattle. Brewed with organic pale, Weyermann Munich and Cara-Hell malts, with pumpkin added in the mash, kettle and fermenter. Spiced with peeled and pureed fresh ginger in the boil and bright tank and hopped with lots of Czech Saaz hops (otherwise it wouldn’t be traditional).

Hazy blond kind of like Christoffel. Pale malt nose with light ginger. Extra ginger - the assertive ginger is a riot, the hoppy snap is fun...nice brew. So untraditional but yet so tasty, even when viewed as a pils (which nominally it is intended to be).

Tap at Blind Tiger. Very pale straw coloured brew topped by a thick white head. Aroma is lightly herbal and grassy. There is a kiss of a slightly vegetal (pumpkin?) character but it is quite subtle. As it warms, this comes up a bit along with a kiss of ginger/clove and light pumpkin. Flavour however, shows a nice noble hop flavour. Fairly yeasty and a bit lemony. Further warming pulls up a bit of light spiciness that seems like a mix of spice and hops. Flavour is quite zesty with just a hint of something else. I thought this might be an overspiced pumpkin beer, but it’s really an exercise in restraint, producing a subtle twist on an otherwise pretty nice pils.

Draft at Blind Tiger, with Reuben & Jen, as part of their pumpkin Promo. 15 lines i believe. All sampled as 5oz pours. Tastes like a light fruity pilsner with enough pumpkin coming through to enjoy.

Hazy dark golden color with a small, white head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of ginger, grass, toast, pumpkin, and spices. Taste of ginger, citrus, toast, grassy hops, metal, and a dry finish.

(Draught) Sampled at Elysian Pumpkin Beer Festival on October 20, 2007. Lasting thin white foamy head and clear amber body. Nose of catnip, ginger. Very ginger flavour. Nice switch-up beer at this festival.

Tap at IH WC during Gathering of the Gourds 2009. Pours a hazy golden amber with a medium bubbly off white head. Aroma of ginger, cookies, noble hops and bready malt. Flavor of the same but the beer was a bit too thin.

Draft at Elysian Great Pumpkin Beer Fest (GPBF) 08. Crystal clear medium gold with a light white head. Nutty, earthy, leafy nose. Light watery body with some fizz. Nut, earth, and leaf return on the mid-palate. Mild finish. A shockingly good little beer.

Grassy and bready nose with a touch of spice. Golden bright beer with a thin fluffy head. Nice pils flavors of bread, grass, lemon. Spice is light and secondary in this one. Light, refreshing, and really pleasant actually.
