mreeves (249), Sammamish, Washington, USA Feb 11, 2008 Now this is an imperial IPA I can get into. A perfect blend of malt and hops in my opinion. Good malt backbone to support all the hops here, and I hope this becomes an Elysian standard. Absolutely excellent! Davecooks (1150), Concord, California, USA Apr 29, 2008 Updated: May 4, 2008Draft. Unfiltered, orange copper color with a frothy white head. Floral aromas with big grapefruit notes. Very resinous and bitter. a somewhat smokey grapefruit and fruit flavor. Nice dry flavor. skoisirius (486), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 29, 2008 Tap at Tangletown. WOW. Elysian scores another one! Deep bronze and gold color with a foamy whitish head that literally lasted the entire glass (extra point for that!). Beautiful. Big citrusy grapefruited hopped aroma with a fair amount of sweet malts to balance it out. Piney resin is hinted at as well. While being incredibly huge and big on the palate, this IPA is surprisingly smooth and mellow at the same time. Beautiful blend of hop characteristics. Mediumly thick body, slight resins. Nice lingering bitter finish that’s sweet. DAMN, that’s good! SuzyGreenberg (1067), Seattle, Washington, USA Apr 10, 2008 sample @ cask fest - missed this at capital hill, so i was glad to see it here; hazy gold with huge hop kick; more sweetness to this than bitterness; bready and chewy texture; delish Dogbrick (2351), Columbus, Ohio, USA May 20, 2008 Sample at the Pike Street location. This beer pours a murky yellow color with a medium thin and foamy white head that dissipates slowly. Rings of lacing on the glass. Citrusy hops aroma with notes of malt and caramel. Medium-bodied and moderately bitter with floral hops and citrus flavors balanced by some bready malt and caramel. The finish is resiny hops with a lingering bitterness left over. Pretty good all around.
