(Draught) Sampled at Elysian Pumpkin Beer Festival on October 20, 2007. Lasting creamy almond-coloured head with a deep opaque body. Wow... great smooth body, very boozy with vanilla nose. Sweet and enjoyable.

Murky brown w. creamy head. Lovely yeasty aroma and flavor intermingles delightfully with malts, though pumpkin is imperceptible. Some alcohol enters the equation to heighten the yeast complexity. An outstanding belgian strong ale/dubbel, though pumpkin does not play a perceptible role.

Brown with medium creamy head. Dark fruit aroma. A little banana and dark fruit in the taste. I don’t get much pumpkin out of it, but I definitely enjoyed this one. Very smooth and drinkable.

10/20/07 On draught at the brewery. Aroma is fusel, like nail polish remover, this pretty much wipes out the faint underlying fruitiness. Appearance is cloudy brown with no head. Flavor is an alcoholic sweet/sour blend that is fruity like a belgian wheat beer, not like a dubbel. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a low carb feel. Overall, this just tasted too off style, and needs more phenolics to compete with the scary aroma.

Rather muddy brown. Bubblegum nose with hints of molasses. Very sweet flavour with lots of bubblegum and a touch of yeast. Pumpkin character is negligible.
