after4ever (1717), Brier, Washington, USA Jun 16, 2008 Draft at Elysian Fields. Pours murky medium amber with bright caramel highlights. Dense but shallow dirty white head. Sweet cloying nose of candied oranges. Creamy medium body, some wooly carb. Syrupy candied fruit business all over the place. Way too sweet to really enjoy, and certain far outside the typical dry funk of a farmhouse beer...not that I am a style nazi by any means, just setting expectations.
glkaiser (911), Seattle, Washington, USA Aug 12, 2008 Hazy amber. Light citrus and yeast mix together to make a pleasant drink. A bit funky, but that’s not the focus. Stays light and drinkable. PilsnerPeter (1415), Flushing, New York, USA Aug 1, 2008 Tap at Barcade: Deep orange with an off white head. Aroma is a slap of old rotted fruit. Overripe/mushy apples and pears. Mild carbonation, slightly sticky. Sweet flavor. Overripe fruits, almost a candi sugar note, rotted apples and a late banana note. Has minimal bitterness. Not really a good example of the style, and it’s too sweet and one dimensional. anders37 (2582), Malmö, Sweden Jul 30, 2008 Draught @ Elysian Fields. Pours a hazy golden color with a small white head. Fruity malty spicy aroma with some yeasty hints. Sweetish malty spicy flavor with some grassy hints. Has a sweetish malty spicy yeasty finish. puzzl (1732), New York, New York, USA Jun 26, 2008 Tap at Blind Tiger. Cheesy hop aroma with a mild bite. Lightly bready, with ugly, sweet malts and teriyaki sauce. Mint. The bad kind. This is terrible. One of the worst saisons I’ve had. hophead75 (1668), Boonton, New Jersey, USA Jun 26, 2008 on tap at the Blind Tiger. By far my least favorite offering. Hazy light copper in color with no head, looks still. Aroma- some light belgian yeast, some unattenuated malt, spice, and vegetal. Taste: is also underattenuated, light caramel, vegetal, some dirty yeast, and some grainy astringency. This was far from what it should be.
