Dorwart (1647), Robbinsville, New Jersey, USA Sep 21, 2008 Very large bright white head of fine bubbles. Reduces slowly and leaves a thick sticky sheet of lacing. Fruity hops aroma with some pear and apple. Light malt in there also. Little weak for an IPA but what is there is quite nice. Crystal clear orangish brown. Very smooth and easy drinking with more fruit (pear) and a bit of piney hops. Some biscuity malts for balance. This is a rather light bodied IPA. Finishes smooth, clean and bitter. A decent and very easy drinking IPA.
coldbrewky (525), Saugerties, New York, USA Nov 30, 2008 Bottle from the rip and run. Eager to try it since an old co-worker rambled about it since he now lives in Seattle. The quick search shows that no one had the issue that I had with this ctritter. The gentlest of pours yields the largest rolicking and lively head i have ever had to deal with. It took me 45 minutes to pour the entire thing. After this arduous experience, I assumed that if one was immortal, they would literally have all the time in the world to deal with a seemingly fleeting issue of pouring a beer. I, on the other hand, am not immortal and was a bit unsettled by this experience. Aroma was lost on me since I was attempting not to make an entire mess of it. hops were average and once the whole shebang decided to act like a beer to be consumed it had some nice clear orange hue. Some nice grapefruit hop bite for finish. Ehh. cbeers21 (456), Miami, Florida, USA Nov 28, 2008 tap @ brewerey. Nice hazy pour with great retention on glass. Solid floral hop nose backewd with a sticky caramel presence. Nicely balanced but brew allows for a powerful hop quality to shine through. Quenching and tooth coatingly tasty. blklab2007 (600), Connecticut, USA Nov 15, 2008 22 oz bottle poured a light amber color with a thin white layer of head. aroma has pine hops, resin, caramel malt, and light citrus underlying. mouth feel is medium with light carbonation and coats the mouth well for a single ipa. flavor is heavily resinous with pines and bitterness. malt is high enough to keep it from being one sided and mixes in with light sweetness. finish is bitter and lingering on the tongue. definitely on the resinous bitter end of the ipa. scale.
mrant (265), New York, USA Oct 26, 2008 Smells of very sweet floral hops. Pours a light copper color with a very think white head. Taste is pungent hop flavor up front with a somewhat watery feel. Very tasty but not the best. Sparky27 (715), Phoenix, Arizona, USA Oct 26, 2008 Bomber courtesy of riversideAK. Pours a bright clear amber with a one finger white head that recedes to a soap scum layer and results in fairly decent lacing. Nose is light caramel malts and citrus. Taste is malt, faint floral and citrus hops with some resin bitterness in the finish. Light-to-medium mouth feel. Pretty mellow hop profile but very drinkable. Thanks Alex!
