CapedBrewsader (260), Brasschaat, Belgium Nov 9, 2009 33cl bottle at home: Hazy amber brew with tall fading tan head. Bigger caramel nose than expected. Orange pulp and some citrus skin sit nicely under a caramel blanket. Light resinous pine with some more grassy hop notes. Very light cardboard mixed with a touch of biscuit. A bit low on the hops for a double IPA. Lets go on to the flavor. Good orange marmalade hop flavor on top of a deep spicy bitterness. Caramel, toast and light cookie break up the hop. Lightly buttery. Alcohol really hits the back of the throat. Light oxidation in the form of cardboard. Pretty long sweet finish upfront with boozed-up and spiced-up hop in the back of the throat. thewolf (5635), Kolding, Denmark Nov 7, 2009 Bottle @ 1st BBF, De Molen.
Pours hazy orange with a small, creamy, off-white film head. Aroma has sweet oranges, malt, tangarine and light pine. Medium carbonation, fine creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has a kinda milky feel that detracts, some fruitiness, mostly oranges. A slight buttery touch. Not magnificent, but there is good hops in there. SaintMatty (1197), Tallinn, Estonia Nov 3, 2009 300ml Bottle - Hazy amber/copper with a foamy head. Hoppy aroma with pine, caramel, spicy malt, dried fruit and grapefruit. Hoppy and fruity taste with grapefruit, dried fruit and caramel. Very tasty. joergen (8430), Frederiksberg, Denmark Nov 3, 2009 Bottle at 1st Borefts Beer Festival at De Molen.
Hazy amber coloured with a small white head.
Sweet aroma of caramel, butterscotsch and hops with notes of pine needles.
Fruity flavour of hops, grass and pine needles with notes of butterscotsch.
Dry hoppy finish. skortila (2876), Bunnik, Netherlands Nov 3, 2009 Bottled. The aroma has caramel malts, citrus, some sharp orange peel or perhaps some black currant notes. Hazy, copper-brown coloured with a thin head. The taste is sweet, bitter, has caramel and fruit. Medium bodied. Has some carbonation. Lacking balance, I think. Good to see another dutch brewer making this style. MesandSim (5790), London, Greater London, England Oct 24, 2009 A Mes rate. Bottle at GBBF. Murky amber brown with a thin but stable head. A good blend of massive sweet fruity malt and some nice grassy hoppage. Good caramel notes along with a nice dry bitter finish with a hint of spice. fonefan (10868), VestJylland, Denmark Oct 10, 2009 Bottle 33cl. Unclear medium orange color with a average, frothy to creamy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, light toffee, moderate to heavy buttery, moderate hoppy, light alcohol . Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Quit a odd beer so i think i need to try it agian to see if there is something wrong with this bottle.
