NoiZe (904), Zeist, Netherlands Jan 23, 2008 I’ve had this one in New Zealand on my honeymoon. Visited the brewery too.
Had this one at the brewery. A bit fruity aroma, nice hoppy flavor with a spicy aftertaste. Worth a try. bozoNZ (361), Christchurch, New Zealand Dec 17, 2007 On tap @ Inch Bar Dunedin - 6/10. A fresh grainy malt nose. Nice golden colour perhaps presented with a faint chil haze. Nice light richness. Some sweetness in the malt balance - like tinned fruits. Nice light peppery finish. An intreguing delightful offering, definately passes the 6 pint test. yalnikim (647), Wellington, New Zealand Nov 7, 2007 Updated: Nov 15, 2007Tasted 07/11/2007. Two pint rigger, direct from the brewery to my front door. Pours a pale "greenish" gold with a light haze and a white head that’s quite virginal (like the brewer). An excellent mild aroma of citrus zest, spice and a far richer malt character than you’d expect from such a pale beer (hints at biscuit dough and mealiness). Smooth and, like the aroma, is far weightier in the mouth than you’d expect. It’s very rich, without being malty or heavy. Excellent start. Good hop flavour gives an oily feel, coating the mouth in juicy hop notes that invite another sip. Bitterness is quite light but the spice and big hop flavour push the perceived bitterness up higher. The only downside, for me, is a lingering tickle and itch on the palate from the coriander addition. Nothing brash, nothing "wow", but a very nice quaffer. Just right for a summer ale (making it two good summer ales in two days from NZ’s two most innovative brewers).
