Maria (3975), Thisted, Denmark May 2, 2007 The head is impressive on this red/brown ale The flavour has initial light sweetness and hints of licorice, and then mostly malt and a brief hint of smoke. There is a very low bitterness in the short finish. Storm (2681), Amager, Denmark Mar 17, 2006 50 cl bottle. Yeast at the bottom. Reddish bown colour with a nice head. Malty aroma with notes of oak, sugar and hints toffee. Nice sweet flavour with notes of roastedness, chocolate and some hoppy finish. Ends up dry and very little bitter. Very drinkable. Lunkie (1006), Glen Iris, Australia Feb 27, 2006 Hop malt aroma and nor much else. Murky brown caramel colour with great head and lacing. Sweet malt flavour. Not expecting a sweet beer. Fizzy palate. sunevdj (1386), Copenhagen, Denmark Feb 22, 2006 Pours a hazy brown with a substantial tanned head. Sweet and quite dry. Dusty with brown sugar, some caramel and roasted malts and fine tones of flowery hops. A hint of coffee in the dry finish. Wish I´d had this and other Emerson beers instead of Speight´s when I was in Dunedin. vanvenlo (784), Glen Iris, Australia Feb 13, 2006 12 Feb 06 - LIght fruit malt aroma.
