Firm, rounded malt character with casacde hops on top of it. Medium bitterness. A good, untraditional pilsener. MiP (9162), Sønderborg, Denmark

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Feb 5, 2005 Nice surprice this pilsener from New Zealand. It has a hazy light golden colour and a big frothy head. Aroma starts with a slight sweet maltyness, then comes the grassy hops. Flavor is fresh and hoppy with hints of grass and grapefruit. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 16, 2005 Poured from the bottle. Golden colour with a good full head (which holds well through the glass). Beautiful aroma - flowery (which I think unusual for a pilsner) and hints of passionfruit. Surprising (for an Emersons) that I do not distinguish any strong flavour characteristics (especially after the aroma). However, on the palate it is crisp and bitter, a very refreshing drop for after a hot day. Certainly the best I know of this variety. JorisPPattyn (5193), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 6, 2005 Huge, just yellow-tinted head, collapsing with confluent bubbles; yellow-golden beer. Lunaria, unripe nectarines, bit of grass in the nose; further dusty hops of absolute top quality, grapey, grapefruit. Excellent. Again beautiful hopstaste, slightly citric quality, grapefruit. Fleeting vanilla-sweet impression. Finishes just slightly toasted. Beer gives more a hoppier, rather than bitter impression, but is quite bitter all the same. Absolutely refreshing, even when the hops convey some dusty flavour. What?? A Pilsener with 8/10 - sure that must be a mistake? Am I loosing my marbles - or is somebody in NZL doing a terrific job? | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 3, 2005 Light pale gold, slightly cloudy. Expressive nose with plenty of floral, fruity notes, slightly herbal.
Very refreshing palate, more herbal notes and a little malt sweetness. Finishes clean with some bite from the hops. As per the stable excellent beer. cb (809), Wheat Ridge, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 19, 2004 Unfiltered apricot with lasting, medium-sized bubbles in head. Perfect carbonation. Fresh, crisp fruity hop aroma. Tasted some rye that added appreciative fullness. Lightly citrus body with grassy undertones. A ton of character and subtlety for just a little over 4%. Popcorn and breadiness in finish. Thanks beer_ledgend! JoeMcPhee (5056), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 17, 2004 A gift from the in-laws recent trip to New Zealand. Pale golden, slightly cloudy beer with a thick white head. Very hoppy aroma. Light honey and citrus maltiness in there as well. Hop profile show mint, herbs, grass and hay. Flavour is quite nice, pale malt, citrus and loads of hop flavour, grassy, citrus along with a touch of pine resin and spice/herbs. Very well-balanced and incredibly refreshing. I wish I could get these all the time.
