Oct 7, 2008 Draught at the Downers Grove pub, 10/06/2008. Robust orange hued golden. Seems more "on style" than ratings from several years ago. Had a definite dry hop presence, faint floral and pine notes in the aroma and flavor. Quite dry in the finish. Light bodied. Not bad.

Sep 5, 2006 Both Frankenkitty and Cornfield nailed this one for me! Very weak nose, flavor, and palate. What makes this an alt again? Cornfield at least picked up some PNW hopping...you’re a better man than I! Avoid.

Sep 5, 2006 <i>Altbier?!?</i> This comes across more like a premium lager with APA aspirations. Golden in body with a slender white head, it has a faint, generic malt aroma with a light peppering. Aug 28, 2006 I’ve had 3 altbiers now and none of them have anything remotely in common. This one was very citrusy hopped, about as hoppy as a pale ale. A little more dry, and darker in color. This was a good beer.

Oct 22, 2005 On tap at the West Dundee location. Cherry wood color with a small, mostly diminishing tan head. Mild pine aroma with some red berries. Moderately grainy flavor, some lemon zest, rye bread, and something I could only liken to dish soap and sponges (?). Very nicely carbonated, full mouthfeel. Slightly alcoholic finish with more bitter, sour graininess. Needs more malt backbone.
