jfenglish (150), Chicago, Illinois, USA Jul 19, 2008 Sampler at the brewery. Cloudy yellow, good head. Nice looking hefe. Very strong aromas of banana. Flavor follows suit- nice soft mouthfeel and lots of bananas and a touch of lemon/citrus at the end for balance. I liked it a lot. thedm (3407), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA Jun 27, 2008 This draft brew from the ale house poured a small sized head of foamy fine to large sized long lasting white colored bubbles that left behind a semi-opaque dark yellow orange colored body with very good carbonation . The aroma was mild with floral malty notes. The mouth feel was mildly tingly at the start and very mellow in the finish. The flavor was thin missing the typical banana notes and favored the hops. kseecs16 (584), Westmont, Illinois, USA May 13, 2008 Murky orange. Full clovey, banana aroma. Flavor is rich, savory, with a cleansing citric tartness. Good wheat beer. Kodos (190), USA Oct 2, 2007 Quite possibly the best Hefe Ive ever tasted. All banana and clover in the nose. Banana and lemon/citrus with a sweet finish. I could enjoy this all the time. Cornfield (4388), Oak Forest, Illinois, USA May 25, 2007 This has a good looking hefe pour, a cloudy straw body with a tall sustained head. The aroma is bananas with (too much?) wheat, a hint of clove, and a zing of lemon. I thought the mouthfeel was more that of an American wheat than a German wheat, the carbonation a touch too harsh. The flavor had too much of the wheat flake to it, but aged bananas, spices, and a mild citric tartness grow in the taste as you continue drinking. Not a bad brew for the warmer days ahead.

Emmett’s Ale House, Downers Grove, IL
