illinismitty (1397), Nashville, Tennessee, USA Jun 2, 2008 Sampled at Noogfest 08 thanks to Gunhaver. Pours golden amber with legs that last forever. Strong aroma of honey. Flavor of caramelly light honey that is not overly sweet with little alcohol detected. There is some very very faint peat or dirtiness in there as well. This is a very nice offering from Florida, although I will admit that I am not a mead expert.
guitargomer (1), Clearwater, USA does not count Aug 6, 2008 Of all the several meads I’ve tasted that are not wine based, this is the best by far. With St Pelagrino water it makes a refreshing and satishying spritzer. Rogueone (365), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA Jul 22, 2008 The only other mead I have ever had was RedStone’s Juniper -- which tastes like some sort of warped apple sake -- so I was hesitant to even try another. Fortunately, this was the follow-up, and it is amazing. It tastes pure, as if the mead was just a natural-occurring process from honey itself. It’s sweet, not overly so, and I barely detected the alcohol here whatsoever-- which is amazing at 13%. I think it’s beautiful. PhillyBeer2112 (1836), Orange Park, Florida, USA Jul 10, 2008 Full big round sweet honey nose. Lightly perfumed Citrus? is this made with orange blossom honey maybe? Nice true honey flavor. Rounded sweet clean and easy drinking. Very pleasant. Just a touch of alcohol. Dark gold color. A close match to Apis Poltorak Jadwiga, but less robust. fiulijn (5860), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Jun 20, 2008 Courtesy of Papsoe Hazy golden color. It has a glue and syrup aroma, some flowers; peculiar, but nice. Sweet flavor, there is a nice touch of honey; far from being cloying and syrupy. Different from the Danish ones (e.g. not herbal), but good. Grovlam (2984), Copenhagen, Denmark Jun 20, 2008 Bottle. [After party @ Papsoe, thanks buddy] Nice pale golden color. Oily lacework in the glass. Aroma of honey, raisins, medicine, spice, alcohol. Over the palate came heavy raisins and almost herbal feel. Hide the alcohol very well. Full bodied with a flat carbonation and thick and mild alcoholic texture. Heavy sweet flavor. Spicy honey lingering finish. 7 / 3 / 7 / 3 / 15
