Commercial Description:
Brewed to give the stout a smoother, almost slick, mouthfeel with a nice finish of coffee provided by Cumberland Coffee and Tea Company. Dark malts are used to give this beer a very complex roast flavor. Lower bittering rates ~30 IBU’s helps put the flavor highlighting the maltiness, and roasted malt. ABV is coming in around 7% on this one!

courtesy of tpd975 pours dark brown, mocha head aroma and flavor, plenty of coffee, roasted malts mixed with nice mocha/chocolate, mild notes of vanilla, dry mouthfeel and finish. Not a coffee bomb, but ample notes of roast and great touch of mocha cream, not much bitterness to be found here leaving ample room for the coffee to develop and coat the palate. Tasty.

A: Pours a very deep dark black hue with a very very tall mocha head. Nice retention with some big chunks of spotty lace. S: Wonderful bold coffee aromas. Coffee grounds melded with chocolate. T: Mostly coffee, but not overly bold. Nice fresh espresso, bitter coffee grounds and a hint of chocolate malt. M: Medium in body, smooth, pretty tasty if you are a fan of the coffee beer. D: Pretty good. Could use a bit more depth. Coffee forward which I won’t complain about. I could see how others would though.

Growler shared by sloth at SL, what a party! The pour was brown with a decent head developing, lots of fine little bubbles with a swirl. The aroma was freaking fantastic, about as good as coffee aromas get, particularly in a beer. Cocoa and roast were quite subtle under the beautiful coffee aroma. The flavor featured much less coffee than the aroma advertised, where some roast and chocolate notes came out but with a body that needed to be bigger and flavor that might have even been underattenuated. Throw some more malts in here somehow, and this would be fantastic. As it stands, it’s a decent brew with a freaking incredible aroma. Thanks, Bert, for sharing!

750mL Bottle. Pure, wet coffee grounds filter aroma. Wet strong, hot grounds. All coffee, nothing else. Pours a dark black-brown and a foamy, yellowish dark creme. Ugh, if I wanted carbonated coffee with alcohol, I would have bought that. It’s harsh, bitterly dry. Dusty and undrinkable. This is just coffee. No beer. No stout. The coffee character isn’t good, either. It’s poor, church coffee grounds. Ugh.

Shared 22 oz. bomber. Everything about this beer, from the nose to the finish, screamed fresh coffee. Poured black with khaki head. FRESH, roasted coffee bean flavor. Creamy mouthfeel, but a bit thin going down. Great coffee stout, and I don’t even drink coffee.

Couple drafts @ the brewery. Nice medium sized brown head, retention is good as is the lacing. Nose of lovely fresh roasted coffee and some aromatic malts. Body is med/full.silky on the palate with a soft carbonation. Yes, coffee flavors up front, fairly large and roasty, notes of chocolate, light caramel and a faint spiceyness. Dry roasty ass finish. An excellent coffee Stout! Well done Matt! Hoping to get a few bottles for trading soon. I,ll letcha know.

Sample from Brewery. Poured black with a frothy tan head. Aroma of strong roasted coffee. More coffee aroma then probably any other coffee stout I ever had. Tastes of freshly brewed coffee, which comes across bitter, yet smooth and very drinkable. A little thin, but very impressed with this selection.

I couldn’t wait I was going to crack this tomorrow morning while working on the car but I was too tempted. Now with that in mind I am thinking of a morning cup of coffee because that is what this smells like. I am craving some bacon and eggs now there is a little sweetness in the aromas It must be from the malts hands down the best nose on any coffee stouts I have tried. Now before I get to the flavors, they are incredible. I must say the only flaw is it is a tad light in the mouth I think that my stouts and coffee should be on the thicker side of medium this tends to be a little week. Now on to where this shines again. The roasted espresso flavors are spot on leaving that same bitter dryness in the finish as a black cup of coffee. It is good to the last drop LOL I have had a lot of coffee infused stouts in the past year, this is in the top five maybe three if it was thicker ;-). A big thumb’s up to the brewer and Thanks Dan you were right I need to try this one. This growler will easly disapear tomorrow maybe with out help
