Commercial Description:
Brewed with brown malts, an English traditional specialty malt, we created an Imperial Russian Stout that has won prizes at festivals across Europe from Sweden to Italy. It’s big, black, roasted and complex. We are convinced that not trying this ale will be a mortal sin to your taste buds and beer experience. Oak chips have been put in 40 year old cognac and then added to the beer.

Black with a tinybeige head. Sweet aroma with dark chocolate, burned malt and espresso. Flavour was huge with burned malt, dark chocolate, wood, espresso and cognac. Full bodied. A master piece! Once again a brilliant beer from Menno.

Bottle 717. Deep black-brown pour. The nose is very salty with a kiss of light chewy malt. Soy and a bit of intense rich roasty character. As it warms a lot of dark malt character comes to the fore as does the barrel contribution. A bit of light sweet chewy maltiness. Fairly peppery with a kisslot of ethanol character as well. A touch of roasted sweetness and a bit of chocolate. Fairly sweet and quite oaky.

Bottle shared by Maxxdaddy: Arouma of prunes, some choclate and other dark fruits and woodiness. Very bitter taste and a little sour. Thin body. Finishes warm with the alcohol. A strange brew.

Black colored brew. Vinous aroma, oak. Very low carbonation, maybe non. Flavor is laural, creamy, buttery, oak, vinous, malty, nice intense bitterness. Very silky, nice to sip.

waxed 33cl bottle.batch 816, bottle # 540 clear dark brown, no head. roasted aroma, dark caramel, toffee, licorice, oak palate is watery, no carbonation whatsoever. flavor is sweet malty, licorice, ends sweet and roasted malty, slightly smoked. some wood. probably one of the least carbonated beers i’ve ever tasted.

Bottle shared by Max. Kind of minty, chocolatey, boozy/vodka aroma. I just swung this up to my face and I think some of the alcohol vapors irritated my eyes. Thin palate, pretty much no carbonation unfortunately, with a coconut, peanut, lightly roasty malt flavor. The flavor is a bit of a letdown.

Its dark brown with a very small and brief head. Aroma was very roasted with notes of bourbon and wood. Flavor was a pretty big disappointment. First off the palate was watery, would never have guessed the relativly hight abv. Besides that it had some sweetness, but overall it felt quite week compared to my expectations. Think its the first time i’ve been let down by this brewery though

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive light brown foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained no carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a thick black color and a suger sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppybitter with a roasted malty touch. This beer smells droplly.
