| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 20, 2009 22 oz. bottle. Pours dark black with creamy frothy brown head. Smells of roasted dark malts, slight chocolate / coffee aroma. Hops also noticeable in aroma. Taste is of rich, roasty malt, balanced with slight hoppiness on finish. As advertised pretty mellow stout, very drinkable, nice, nothing too exciting here though. Deep black with a cream top. Nuts, chocolate, cream and a bit of fruit. Good balance of aroma and body, both of which is not overpowering. Bitterness and coffee at the end but finish is shorter than expected. This is pretty impressive. halfonit (476), Fall River, Massachusetts, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 10, 2009 A: Pours black as night with a three finger khaki colored head which settles down to a beautiful ring just covering the top of the brew.
S: Nice and malty with hints of underlying chocolate.
T: Malt, oats, and caramel are the first thing to hit me. Then a nice warmth of chocolate comes thru with just a hint of charcoal in the finish.
M: I love the way this beer feels in the mouth. It’s really smooth, crisp and clean. Very nice.
