Bottle. Deep brown with a beige head. Roasted malt aroma with loads of coffee and a solid nutty sweetness. The flavor has coffee up front, and a lighter nutty sweetness. Lightly bitter roasted finish. Very good.

Thanks to Joe for this! Dark viscous pour. Fluffy chestnut colored head and no lace. Aroma is heavy roast, coffee and hazelnut. Roast, chocolate, and cream upfront. Finish with fresh roasted coffee. Dry and bitter

Black color with a nice thick caramel colored head. Aromas include coffee, a little coconut, and a slight roasty scent. This one is medium, almost full bodied. Flavor is full of coffee, with hints of coconut, chocolate, and and some nuts. Leaves a nice coffee flavor in the aftertaste. This brew is similar to Founders Breakfast Stout. Another good one from Stone.

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a tan head and some lacing. Sweet and nutty with an intense but not at all overpowering coffee aroma. Tastes slightly sour and just a bit bitter with an almost buttery texture of macadamias.

12 ounce bottle. Served in a Sam Adams BL glass, the beer pours dark brown with about a half inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent. Aroma is very nice, it smells like coffee, coconut, roasted malt, chocolate and some nuts. The taste is the same as the aroma, with a great mix between the sweet and bitter flavors (although I do think the bitter flavors are stronger than the sweet ones). There’s also a slight lingering bitter coffee finish. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it’s thicker than most porters, not that I’m complaining! It’s rich and coating, and has above average carbonation. Drinkability is pretty good, but it would be hard to drink more than a couple bottles of this at a time. The alcohol isn’t noticable in the taste, although it does hit you after a while. I think this is a good overall brew, if you get a chance you should definitely try this one.

Bottle, pours black with thick tan head. Aroma, amazing deep and complex its the overwhelming coffee but beyond that there’s a deep roastiness. Like an old pot of coffee that is almost burnt and really strong - musty and a slight sweetness. Taste - where to begin the coffee sure but there’s so much more tongue tingles, with hop bitterness and a deep roasted flavor. I love it.

WOW! Almost black with a tan head. Tons of coffee and deep roasted grains on the nose. Coffee dominates the flavor , with chocolate and nuts, not really tasting the coconut. Silky smooth, just enough hops and dryness to counter the malt and roastiness, very, very good. I can’t get over this aroma, the flavor, palate, etc are all good, but the aroma is special. only the very best beers that I have ever had keeps this aroma rating from being a 10.

Got myself a free bottle of this from a friend thank you. As soon as the cap came off I got a big whiff of sweet chocolate. Poured black with a thin tan head. aroma, coffee, roasted malts, honey, and brown sugar, vanilla, dark cherries the beer had to warm up for me to get coconut. Flavor chocolate and dark cherries right up front than the rich coffee and coconut, raisins. I liked the mouth feel of this nice, and smooth. I could see me drink a few of these sitting in front of the fireplace.
