Xmas present from the GF. Pours a Bright red with a soft pink head. Sour cherries and barnyard funk dominate the aroma, with notes of wet hay, wood, and vinegar. Flavor is tart lambic and sour cherries. Nice, funky yeast notes as well as the aforementioned vinegar and wood. Nice, sweaty cherry finish. Nice body goes down smooth with good carbonation. Good puckering finish. An absolutely wonderful lambic.

375ml bottle, dated 14/12/2007, at City Beer. Just on the light side of red color with a pink head. The aroma has lots of cherry, bordering on medicinal, with lots of funky hay. The cherry seems to mellow out the funk and bretty character a bit, but this is still a powerful mix of cherry and lambic. The flavor is dry with lots of tart cherry, but less than the aroma. The finish is sour with a yoghurt touch, but still smooth and not abrasive in it’s sourness. Light bodied with medium carbonation. Pretty big cherry flavors and aromas overall, with a nice subdued sourness. Great stuff, but the cherry comes off as just a touch medicinal, which may be as much my childhood associations as anything.

12.7oz bottle, dated 12/14/07, from CBX. pours a deep, blood-red with a half-inch, bubbly, rosey pink head with solid lacing. aroma is wonderful with huge tart cherry and blackberry fruit notes with sour brett funk, lemon juice, soaked wood, red wine vinegar and hints of spice, sweatsock, and barnyard. flavor is excellent as well with huge, tart, sour cherry and lemon juice notes up front backed by mild funk, oakey wood, and cider vinegar with a touch of sweet vanilla flowers peaking through underneath. palate is medium bodied with prickly carbonation and mouthwatering/puckering sourness. overall, a wonderful lambic.

Dark ruby red with a small grey head that quickly fades into a small ring. Aroma is sharp cherry, light funk, wood and cherry pits. Flavour is quite sour, funky, woody and "wet" with a light cherry sweetness and complex notes of cherry pits and hai. Ends dry. Very drinkable without compromising complexity.

Incredibly rich roma of cherries, blackcurrant, plums, cloud berries and goose berries. Taste like fruit and berry juice without added sugar. Impressive craft brewing. Recommended! (Sampled from a bottle that had been open 4-5 days @ Bulldog in Ginza, Tokyo, February 2009.)

2007 Bottle - Thanks j12601! - Pours a clear pinkish red with a small, quickly dissipating pink head...aroma is sour, almost chemically, cherry and oak...smells better as it breathes...flavour is dry, salty cherries and vinegar, oak tannin, lemon and dust, massively lactic and very slightly fruity...finish is a lingering phenolic acidity...far different from what I expected...

At Tria in Philly... Pours a slightly hazy ruby, deep red, with a minimal head, very wine looking... Tart aroma of sour cherries, oak, berries, barnyard, funk... Flavor profile matches, similar to cantillion rosee but a touch less tart/sour... medium bodied, wonderful mouthfeel, remarkably complex...
