Mildly sweet roast-malty aroma with notes of chocolate, candy, liquorice and leather. Sweet and slightly bitter flavour, full bodied with a smooth and slightly oily mouthfeel. Roasty malty and subtle fruity taste with notes of chocolate, liquorice, mocha and a tinge of molasses; sweet and mildly roast-bitter finish with a moderate duration. A hearty and tasty Stout. 24.XII.09 Mjollnir (24), Canberra, Australia
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 21, 2009 375mL bottle. Pours an opaque black with a thick, frothy brown head that slowly diminishes to a ring. Unsurprisingly for Coopers there is a lot of sediment - large pale brown chunks that settle at the bottom of the glass. Aroma is malty, roasty and subtle hints of chocolate. Taste is more of the same, with a light sweetness and mild bitterness. Medium bodied and creamy with a dry finish. Eirikur (301), Alftanes, Iceland

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 26, 2009 Bottle. Opaque and thick-looking but pours with surprisingly little head. Might be the hotel glass to blame. Aroma is coal, chocolate. The palate is fizzy but has good drinkability. Decent coffee flavors, dark chocolate, dry earthy finish. Simple but good malt flavors. Comes just short of having burnt flavors. Slight fruity tang too. michael-pollack (2749), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
