The taste is sweet and incredibly malty and nutty but not overpowering. A lovely drink both alone and with food. Great for chilly weather, but I think I could drink this at any time during the year. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 28, 2009 Pours a dark brown with a tan head. Rich caramel aroma. Flavor is loaded with caramel and dark fruits, raisin, plum, fig. It’s a pretty sweet beer (my only complaint really, a bit too sweet) and finishes with a nice alcohol warmth. Quite tasty--a nice choice for my 500th rating! Bockyhorsey (2525), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Sweet spicey fruits with the caramel in the background. Little alcohol on last swig, seems to have mellowed out a bit. JaBier (1219), Capital City, Ohio, USA
