(bottle - corked & caged 750 ml) Deep ruby red with a light pink head. Aroma is heavy amounts of sour and funk, barnyard notes, and some very mild wood hints. Lots of sour cherries as well. Flavor is really sour, but not a whole lot of cherries present. A lot of tart and sour funk with a lot of earthy and dry flavors. Some wooden hints near the end with a very tart and lingering finish. Outstanding. Rating #2100.

Blood Garnet pour that thins to a pink at the top with a think ring of offwhite head. Aroma is sublime Black cherry, Floral , Perfumey, different than I expect and simply stunning. Flavor is a ballance of sharp sourness and soft cherry fruit. Dry fruity finish coats my mouth with every sip and leaves me wanting as much of this as I can get at a time. The best Kriek I’ve ever come in contact with and possibly one of the best Lambics as well. Damn.

Beautifully deep cherry looks with a baby pink foam. Rubber and sour apple tree on the nose then plenty of farmyard cowshit. Amazing sherbert and cherry tartness. A childish carbonation makes it very vibrant and cheeky. Long and woody in the finish with an almost mulled wine spice and orangeness. Boom.

Blood red pour, pinkish tints, with a minimal white head. Aroma holds incredibly sweet black cherry predominantly, along with upside-down pineapple cake, floral notes, and Chambord; awesome aroma for a fruit beer, so complex. Flavor has a lot more funk, brilliantly sharp as compared to the aroma. Cherry and liqueur aspects are still incredible and tasty, and balances the rudeness beautifully. Palate is certainly funky, but oh so welcome. This is one of my favorite lambics ever.

Robust blood-garnet pour with a frothy pink head that is slow to dissolve. Aroma is sweet cherry, black cherry, floral funk, orchid, and fruity perfume. Flavor is massively cherry oriented with gratuitous funk, acidic sour berry, and very slight dry oaken tannins. Palate is acidic, slick, lightly effervescent, and smackingly dry but not over attenuated. Can I get a goddamn...

Botle, 75 cl, alone :-) Dark red colour of cherries, starting with a little pink head disappearing fast, but although still a very decent presentation. The aroma is first light sour, but with cherries later on, making this beer have a good smell. The taste is "WOOW!" or "fantastic". If you really want to drink a real ’Kriek’, than you have to drink this one. You taste really good the ’Schaerbeekse Krieken’, but not sweet at all, and although there is lambic in it, also not sour at all. Very enjoyable beer to drink. It may cost 9 EUR per bottle, but it is certainly worth it, the champagne between the ’(Oude) Krieken-beers’!

Bottled at 3rd Brugs BF, as Oude Kriek. Light hazy deep red/burgundy colour, pink head. Aroma of cherry pits, funk, sourness, some wood. Flavour is sour, very sour with some cherries. Nothing more. Light to medium bodied. Not my style of beer.

Hazy red pour, thin quickly fading head. Bizarre aroma. Cherries, yes, but also hints of rubbing alcohol. wood, cinnamon, and lemon. It calms down a little with time, but still strange. A decently potent acidity first hits the tongue, followed by a drawn out cherry finish. Also a bit of wood, and perhaps smoke in the finish. A nice, subtle touch at the end. Ultimately good, but not entirely my style.
