Dec 17, 2009 Very good barley wine style. Flavors of caramel and rum intermingled with some hops. Finishes nicely with some slight bitterness.

Dec 16, 2009 Pours hazy dark amber almost brown with a big frothy tan head. Aroma- honey, melon, berry, alcohol, orange. Taste- bitter but well balanced by caramel malt sweetness. Great beer but like a lot of heavily hopped barleywine’s that i’ve seen around.

Dec 14, 2009 Hazy orange pour topped initially by a small creamy head, light brown in color. Rich aroma with heavy caramel, plum, grape, raisin, perfume and alcohol. Heavy sweetness and moderate bitterness throughout the drink, which finishes long and alcoholic. Full body. Soft syrupy mouth feel. Good one!

Dec 12, 2009 22 oz. bottle- Aged 11 months. Pours cloudy reddish with a nice head and almost no lacing. This almost smells fresh hopped with a nice maltiness, very well balanced. The flavor is close to Bigfoot only with less bite and more of a sweetness (I compare all Barleywines to Bigfoot). This beer got me even more shitfaced than before I started Mephistopheles. Cheers

Dec 11, 2009 this one pored amber with a frothy off white head and a nose which was dominated by a big hp presence of grapefruit and pines with a back ground of caramel malts could have used 2 or 3 years of cellar time IMO taste was of the same almost IPA like

Dec 10, 2009 A: Clear golden amber in color, with nice head and lacing.
S: Pure Sweetness and Hops baby, I think I’m gonna like this one.
T: This is a big beer, let me rethink that, NO this is a HUGE beer. It has a nice mix of hops brillance and malt sweetness. You can taste the alcohol in this one, but it’s not overbearing.
M: This one is full bodied and smooth. The oil from the hops helps it to go down nicely.
