Pours a deep amber with a slight ruby hue, frothy beige head with some spotty lacing. Some candie sugar, coffee grounds, cocoa dust and dried dark fruits on the nose. Very woody on the palate with hints of charred oak, spice, yeast and dried figs......tasty stuff. PilsnerPeter (2667), Flushing, New York, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 21, 2009 Tap at Barcade: Deep brown with an amber hue and an off white ring of head. The aroma is richly malty- raisiny with some brown sugar, toasted fig, and mild oak. Silky on the palate. Drier flavor than expected from aroma. Mild raisin notes with a toasted dark fruit not of fig and date with a lot of toasted dry oak on the back. Tannic and interesting. scrizzz (1331), kirkland, Washington, USA

Mild toasty, marzipan, cherry, oak, Italian plum sweetness. Less sweet and as carbonated as most Allagash brews, and I am enjoying that. The wheat is also working for me to add that little bit of ’chewiness’. But, just like other Allagash beers it is really well made. Acknud (792), Morganfield, Kentucky, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 18, 2009 I thought this was a good beer but it it misses somehow. It needs to be sharper. It is a little on the bland side with a woody taste and a good amount of roasted malt. Maverick34 (716), New York, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Draught. Poured dark with almost no head. Flavors were mild bit of dark fruits and wood, consistency was a bit watery. COuld have used a bit more bite IMO.
