Disappears slowly leaving beautiful lacing. Aromas are a little odd. with heaps of fruit including bananas, stone fruit and plenty of fruity esters. Even perhaps a little lemonade. There is also some roasted malt and some yeast amomas. Flavours are a lot more as expected. heaps of roasted malt, stone fruit and alcohol. Mouthfeel settles as it warms. Great beer. twindog (92), Hampstead, Maryland, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Dec 4, 2009 A truly unique experience! Medium opaque brown in color, similar to the 6 with a more balanced palette. Notes of candied pear in nose and dried cherries on palate. If you’re not a fan of this kind of beer, you don’t know what you’re missing. Dynamite brew - a one of a kind gem! Rated while drinking with Fistfull and Bigguns22. bigguns22 (106), Maryland, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 3, 2009 Nice dark amber with a very thick, creamy off-white head. Nice earthly and yeasty aroma. Slight fruityness to the aroma as well. Oily and chewy mouthfeel. Full-bodied to say the least. Taste is of very dark fruits with a very warming alcohol finish. This is a nice beer but I like the 10 better. vikingguy (148), Chaska, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Pours a hazy brown, lots of sediment and carbonation. Tall foamy tan head. Aroma is caramel and dark fruit and some earthy hops. Flavor is big and rich. A caramel and raisiny sweetness intermingles with a sour and herbal-bitter tartness. Alcohol well hidden. Very good, however it has a rather unpleasant cherry cough syrup aftertaste. weihenweizen (23), West Virginia, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 2, 2009 Refrigerated bottle poured into a trappist glass. Pours dark brown with big beige head and nice lacing. Nice high carbonation. In general the taste is complex, dark fruit and effervescent. In particular it has flavor tones of brown sugar, figs, and a hint of caramel. Alcohol is not that noticable. The best stong belgian ale I have had.
