This reddish brown ale poured with a decent tan head and a malty aroma. The flavor is roasted malt with some coffee, spice and hop bitterness. It’s very well put together. After having a couple other good brews, a pint of this one pretty well did me in for the night. ChazMania (415), Pasadena, California, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 5, 2009 Tap from Carlsbad. Huge floral aroma. Big crisp flavor balanced out by a malty texture and hints of toffee and caramel. I could have had a few of these but didn’t because I was driving. This reminded me alot of the Ballast Point Tongue Buckler. Awesome beer. BMan1113VR (2958), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
