Commercial Description:
Samichlaus is brewed once a year on December 6, and is aged for 10 months before bottling. It is one of the rarest specialties in the world. Samichlaus may be aged in the bottle for many years to come, as older vintages become more complex. Brilliant deep amber, complex dry toasted malt nose and huge intensely sweet palate. The 2007 bottling is the first bottling since 1986.

After the beer was served in the glass there was found a lasting quantity not wall adhesive white foam collar which was fine and evenly of structure. The beer also contained no carbonic acid in the glass. The beer has a clear amber color and a suger sweet taste. The after tast of the beer is hoppybitter with a acoholic touch. This beer smells like acohollic.

Flaske: Dyb orange øl med en overordentlig fin karbonering i forhold til procenterne. Kraftig duft af malt og tørrede frugt. Smagen er igen maltet og tørret frugt med et heftigt alkohol bid. Fin øl, men i små mængder.

Pours a fading off-white head with a clear, pale copper body. Aromas of malted grain, toffee, and grassy hops. Flavors of dried fruit due to alcohol and the concentration of malted grain. Thick, oily, heavy body. Sweet. Goes down poorly.

Transparent and copper in color. Smells of sweet bread, malt, and caramel. Tastes like sweet bread, icing, honey, and alcohol. Good malt presence. High alcohol isn’t overwhelming.

Bottle:Clear, copper coloured, small foamy layer; sweet caramel, toasted malt raisins and nuts in the nose, a tinge of molasses detectable, too; full bodied, solid sweet flavour; vinous, sweet and warming finish with a light alcohol burn. Fine winter-warmer..........
