| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 14, 2009 Bottle/22 - Poured a medium dark orange amber in color with a small white head that faded quickly to a thin covering over the top of the beer. The remaining head produced some heavy lacing on the glass. Aroma is very hoppy... pine resin, mild grapefruit, some floral... and accompanied by a fair amount of malty sweetness... caramel or honey. Some fruity esters... white grape mostly. Flavor is surprisingly sweet, given the amount of hops used to make it. Hops not has apparent as in the aroma... some pine resin and floral... medium bitter. Finish is initially malty sweet, but it is bitter as it fades. Not typical of the average IIPA as it is really too sweet, but along with the level of hopping in the beer it seems to work for me... I like it. Allen (1340), Switzerland
