| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 6, 2009 Dark murky brown pour, initially headless, but slowly puts up a dense, creamy, espresso-like creme cap; once it forms, it stays. Malty aroma, brown sugar with a cidery edge. Complex malt profile chocolate and roasted sugars, any sweetness completely balanced by herbal bitterness, aniseed, and the raw grain spiciness of the rye. Dark chocolate and mint on the linger. Full bodied, palpably smooth and creamy, prickly on the palate. markwise (1186), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 23, 2009 On tap at Brixie’s in Brookfield, IL. and dispensed to a large snifter. The head was foamy and tan toned, and left some nice, curtainy lacing in it’s wake. The aroma and flavor were very similar notes of strong roastiness, coffee, dark/dry chocolate, some toffee, caramel and also hints of whiskey soaked cask wood and vanilla. Close to full bodied, with somewhat low carbonation that seemed to thin it out a bit. Possessed kind of a rich, iced coffee nature.
