Dark murky brown pour, initially headless, but slowly puts up a dense, creamy, espresso-like creme cap; once it forms, it stays. Malty aroma, brown sugar with a cidery edge. Complex malt profile chocolate and roasted sugars, any sweetness completely balanced by herbal bitterness, aniseed, and the raw grain spiciness of the rye. Dark chocolate and mint on the linger. Full bodied, palpably smooth and creamy, prickly on the palate.

Thanks to alcstradamus for this beer. Pours dark cola brown with a thin, off-white head. Nose is whiskey, roast, dark chocolate, slight coffee, and earth. Flavor is light whiskey, chocolate, roast, and coffee. Enjoyable beer with a medium body and mellow whiskey- Tyranena is pioneering sessionable, flavorful light abv beers. Please, keep going!!

Dark mahogany with good, creamy brown head / Nose of roast barley, coffee, whiskey, and vanilla / Medium to full body, some acidity, with excellent balance and long, lingering finish / Flavors of dark roast coffee, bittersweet chocolate, caramel, coconut, whiskey, and vanilla / Outstanding, and a monster. If this is their porter, the stout must be motor oil.

8th September 2008. Soft, slightly silky beer. Starts with a mild coffee tone. Continues with a mildly sour note and ends with a biscuity sour finish. A little sour but not bitter at all.

On tap at Brixie’s in Brookfield, IL. and dispensed to a large snifter. The head was foamy and tan toned, and left some nice, curtainy lacing in it’s wake. The aroma and flavor were very similar notes of strong roastiness, coffee, dark/dry chocolate, some toffee, caramel and also hints of whiskey soaked cask wood and vanilla. Close to full bodied, with somewhat low carbonation that seemed to thin it out a bit. Possessed kind of a rich, iced coffee nature.
