Commercial Description:
This recipe was crafted by a Lincoln homebrewer named Dave Oenbring. We do a public event involving judging homebrew four times a year and his beer won at our November event judging "winter ales". It would be easiest to classify this beer as a Soba. It is a winter ale made with buckwheat and honey.

Tap at South location. My notes are almost identical to Sledge’s. Hazy amber/brown color. Ice cold, no head, seems flat. Smells of honey, thin, watery beer...not much flavor at all, save some bitter hops at the end with the honey dryness...and an odd almost metallic suggestion, probably from the honey...sorry Dave, hopefully your version was better (and I bet it was). This version I don’t really want to try again.

On tap at the brewpub. Color of ice tea. Very little head. Low carbonation. Strong aroma of honey. Thin in body with a slightly bitter aftertaste. Hops seem low. Subtle honey flavor. Maybe it was a little green when I had it? Seems like a good idea, but I’m not sure that this beer reached attenuation.
