Commercial Description:
CONGRATULATIONS TO LINCOLN HOME BREWER Dave Oenbring, OUR BEER QUEST GERMAN ALE WINNER! Dave's Dutch Smoked Porter took top place - some may not consider it 100% authentic German but I challenge you to find a German that won't drink it. If all goes well we'll be tapping Dave's Beer Quest beer in mid October.

Medium roast and mild aroma. Deep brown to amber with thin head and slight lacing. Some smoke...chocolate and roast are mild. Slight bitter at the end. Somewhat thin and watery.

On tap at the Lincoln brewery. Pours coal black with a very thin beige head. The aroma has elements of coffee, roasted malt and spiced meat. Very poor lacing. The body is very thin. There’s no smoke aroma and even less smoke flavor. I’m not sure why they call it smoked. The very roasted tart flavor leaves a slightly sour finish. I get some orange flavors out of this as well. If there’s any chocolate flavors in this, they are very subtle. For the most part, I would have trouble differentiating this beer from the normal 3rd Stone Brown. Something of a bore.
