Commercial Description:
Nothing common here, just great beer! “Commonly” consumed in California’s early gold rush days when those old wood kegs would literally burst from the pressure of the beer, leading to the nickname Steam Beer. Super Nova is ruby-gold with a refreshingly smooth sweetness that’s complimented by an All-American crisp hop finish.

(on tap at Lazlo’s in downtown Lincoln). Pours a clear yellow/orange color. Medium off white head. Very light malt aroma. Citrus taste with light roasted flavor. Slightly astringet finish. Fair lacing. Slick texture. Moderate carbonation.

On tap at Lazlos in Lincoln, Nebraska. The server also called this "California Common". Poured a nice amber color with a decent off-white head and average lacing. Nose was very fruity, with a somewhat sweet odor. Palate was smooth and honey-like. Flavor was very interesting, with some complecity A vey nice summer beer, maybe one the better I have ever tasted. Went back for a second on this one.

On tap at the 2006 Nebraska Craft Brewer’s Festival. Pours a cinnamon color with amedium off-white head. Mild fruit flavor seems a slight bit soapy, but not much. Tastes exactly like a steam beer. In fact, this tastes closer to Anchor than any other attempt I have tried. Mild buttery tonge feel. Fruity berries amid caramel toastiness. Good lacing remains.

On tap at the Crescent Moon Alehouse. Copper in color with a rapidly disappearing head. Nice hop aroma. First sip reveals a strong bittering hop content that greatly satisfies. Malt content is good, but not generous. Still, the great hop flavor makes this very drinkable.

(Tap, Crescent Moon) Pours a deep amber body with a small white head. Aroma of sweet malt. Flavor similar to the aroma with some mild hops. Bitter finish.

On tap at Crescent Moon, this is a nice dark bronze beer with a substantial head. Astringent bitterness and a metallic bite. Pleasant hop character without the full fruity burst of an IPA ... Good brew.

Tap from brewpub...I’m always glad to see this one come on...muted aroma I associate the smell with the yeast and certainly some hops...nice malt flavor...bready and nutty a bit...and well bittered...lingering with a woody/earthy hop character...this glass came with a small head and did leave some lace as I drank.

Found this on tap at the Crescent Moon Alehouse. Looked amber in color with a white head. Smelled grassy with some citrus. Strong hops and good bitterness. Very smooth but too hoppy for me. I will have to try it again because I had it after a vintage beer tasting, and I couldn’t get those beers out of my mouth the whole night.
