Clear, dark brown w/ red accents. Aroma is of bark, hinting at bread crust, pecans and tobacco. Fairly full body, enhanced by the low carbonation and touch of oiliness. Malty front with light nuttiness leads to more iron-tasting middle. Finishes with earthy, toasty notes and an increase in hop dryness. Straightforward flavours very similar to the aroma. Thanks Shorlin!

Pours brown with a tan head. Smells malty with some chocolate and coffee notes. Taste has some tarte qualities with more coffee and chocolate dominating. Finish is slightly peppery.

Brown color with hint of orange through the light. smaller, but stable bone colored head. Very dry aromas of hearty grain bread. Moderate body with a lightly acidic finish. Lightly sweetened nuts and a more simple sweetness in the middle. Toasted malt fin the finish and linger. A light flavored brown that is quite straight forward.

Dark brown body with hints of rust at the edges. The thin head is khaki colored. caramel and some milk chocolate are right up front in the initial nose. There is also a little bit of biscuit. I got strong notes of milk chocolate and pancakes in the initial tastes. As I drank more I began to note some earthy wood and hints of roast. A fairly good brown, but a little bland.

This is the single micro draft they have at my local ... it’s brown, to be sure. Relatively thin and headless, this is a predominately sweet beer with a bit of nutty roastiness. Not bad, not great, but still a thousand times better than the other choices.

2005 12oz bottle shared with SuIIy on 5/23/06. Clear, filtered, force-carbonated chestnut brown with an earl-gray tea-like appearance after it settles, because the head is nowhere to be found. A simple ring of beige head sits on the edge. Cherries arise from the glass at first and even some fair chocolate sweetness. For a while it’s sniffable, but quickly, skunked cabbage and black pepper cloud the finish of the aroma, with cardboard and boiled potatoes not far off. The flavor is under-malted, very thin, with rapdily fizzling carbonation. DMS is heavy on the finish, with soily, old leaves and dry, papery cardboard. Very thin and weak.
