Papsoe (14642), Frederiksberg, Denmark May 24, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) Dark with a fairly decent head. Appears to be filtered, but some sediment is found on the bottom of the bottle. Typical notes of chocolate, dried fruits and perhaps even licorice. Rather dry though with some hops in the finish. Very classical Dubbel. 280695 Beer2000 (1775), Kristiansand, Norway Mar 25, 2005 Dark brown beer, nice malt taste with a hint of spices and candy sugar. An easy drinkable dubbel, maybe a bit to sweet. aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA Mar 7, 2005 A little metallic with slightly burnt roasted malt. Lactic acid creeps in about midpalate. The finish is toffee sugar and malt astringent. Spiesy (2333), Global Citizen, Greater London, England Jan 9, 2005 Bottled. Deep, rich, true brown body, soft smallish (for the style) beige head. Nutty malts, with some milk chocolate qualities. Not a stand out but still very easy drinking. JonMoore (1561), Loughborough, Leicestershire, England Jan 6, 2005 Bottle.
