Clear yellow/amber with a mere film of tiny bubbles and fine threads of lacing. Not a bad beer to knock back a couple of pints with one of the pub’s half pound burgers. A bit thin to stand out much on it’s own. The citrus hop flavors just barely get your tongue’s attention. Malt and sugars are minimal, but ok for the style. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jun 22, 2009 Draught at the brewpub. Light gold with a white head. Spicy and woody hop aroma with a doughy malt presence as well. The flavor has some bready malt and was pretty hoppy, with a spicy and bitter finish. medium-light bodied with medium carbonation. This was pretty bitter i the finish, with a light alcohol presence that let you know it was the strongest beer in the range. Alright, but seemed to be lacking a little in the malt department. doubleo (1104), San Diego, California, USA

Smells sweet, syrupy malty, slight citrus. Tastes slightly dishtowel with hints of citrus and a backing of sweet, syrupy, cereal malts. Medium body, ok carbonation. Flavor is slightly sweet, body is light and refreshing. Nice bitterness rounds everything out. Pretty standard epa. ABUSEDGOAT (1934), California, USA

Clear amber, average at best lacing. Aroma is grapefruity with pine, some more fruit, typical caramel backing. Lighter bodied, some alcohol, bitterness and sweetness are all in finish. Definitely not my favorite APA. GeneralGao (3057), Iowa City, Iowa, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Aug 1, 2006 Draught. Clear amber color. Almost no head. Biscuity malt nose and flavor with a sublte hoppy accent. There is also a light citrusy note at times. Moderate carbonation made for a fairly smooth mouth feel. marcus (1864), Sacramento, California, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Mar 22, 2006 On tap at English Ales Brewery. This light gold ale poured with a short white head. Tasted like a classic english pale ale that has been watered down. Drinkable, but not much more. ElGaucho (1730), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 20, 2006 Draught. Fresh, fruity aroma with some hops (more than I would have expected for an English IPA). Clear, pale gold. Lace is pretty good but good on all beers at Brittania Arms in Monterey. Relatively sweet flavor with some bitterness. A little flawed at the finish with some metallic notes. Finish is doughy. Not bad. This is a rare craft beer that might actually taste better colder.
