stoutlover72 (1320), NorCal, California, USA Aug 17, 2006 A Scotish Ale? No way. Sorry. Uh-uh. It had none of the Scotish Ale characteristics. But what it did have was more like a lager or an perhaps an amber ale. Aroma was sweet, a little corny but clean. Where’s the peat? Not here. Appearance was amber colored, okay. Mouthfeel was light bodied, and too light IMO to be a Scotty. Flavors were clean, a little sweet but that was really all. It was consumed rather quickly so it’s obviously drinkable. So I rated accordingly to a Scotch Ale. I’ll pass. hopdog (4525), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2006 12oz bottle acquired in trade with DarkElf (thanks!). Poured a deeper and see through amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Softer aromas of caramel, some nuttiness, and a very faint smokiness. Tastes of toffee, caramel and nuts. Thinner body. Somewhat boring, but drinkable. barleyPops (1058), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA Apr 18, 2006 color of apple cider with little floaties throughout. unlike any other scotch ale I have ever tried. not much malt or flavor. thanks to Saarlander for the bottle. marcus (966), Sacramento, California, USA Mar 22, 2006 This dark golden ale poured with a moderate off-white head. The flavor is hoppy, but otherwise, nondescript. PGA324 (85), Savage, Minnesota, USA Feb 11, 2006 Kind of an average beer, nothing special but drinkable. Falvor is smooth. Dark golden amber color with faint aromas of sweet fruits. Neither hops or malt flavors dominate.
