| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 22, 2009 Draught at the brewpub. Amber with a lacy head. Caramel, toasted bread, and light hop aroma. The flavor has a good dose of caramel and toasty malt flavors with a nice hop bite and bitter finish. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. I was digging the malt and hop balance on this one. Pretty good overall. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2008 On-tap at the brewpub. Everyone I talked to who knew about EA raved about this beer, ehhh. Pours clearish amber with a thin white head, good lace. Smells sweet and fruity malty, red fruit and caramel. Tastes malty and caramelly sweet. Light hop flavor and slightly metallic. Medium body, good carbonation. Delirium (502), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 20, 2008 Draught at the Perg in Santa Cruz. Pours dark amber with a tiny white head. Aroma is sweet and light malt. Flavor the same, with a bit of caramel and light English-style hops. Not much of a scottish ale, though; kind of reminds me of a sweetish ESB actually. Not bad if you ignore the style. GG (1672), NorCal, California, USA
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Aug 17, 2006 A Scotish Ale? No way. Sorry. Uh-uh. It had none of the Scotish Ale characteristics. But what it did have was more like a lager or an perhaps an amber ale. Aroma was sweet, a little corny but clean. Where’s the peat? Not here. Appearance was amber colored, okay. Mouthfeel was light bodied, and too light IMO to be a Scotty. Flavors were clean, a little sweet but that was really all. It was consumed rather quickly so it’s obviously drinkable. So I rated accordingly to a Scotch Ale. I’ll pass. hopdog (5614), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 17, 2006 12oz bottle acquired in trade with DarkElf (thanks!). Poured a deeper and see through amber color with a smaller sized off white head. Softer aromas of caramel, some nuttiness, and a very faint smokiness. Tastes of toffee, caramel and nuts. Thinner body. Somewhat boring, but drinkable. barleyPops (1081), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA
