English Wines Curious Brew Admiral Porter | ||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
Commercial Description: This rich, dark Porter has been brewed using crystal, chocolate, black and amber malts from floor malted Sussex barley. The 'bittering' hop is the Sussex grown Admiral, which gives the beer its name. The winemaker's twist is to ferment and condition the beer with oak, giving a delicate balance of sweetness and bitterness, full depth of flavour and creamy vanilla notes. The ideal glass for appreciating the Admiral Porter at its best is a low goblet. As the porter is bottle-conditioned it does produce a sustained, coffee-coloured head which this wide-topped but slightly tapered glass helps to retain
