maeib (3802), Wootton, Northampton, Northamptonshire, England Apr 25, 2008 Cask conditioned - handpump - Merchants Inn, Rugby. A straw yellow beer with a white head and lacing. A subtle ginger beer with some sweet honey notes, and a little bit of nice spice. The base beer seems nice although there’s little in the way of hop. The honey may actually be overdone but the ginger isn’t.
DruncanVeasey (1499), Burbage, Germany Apr 21, 2008 Cask, ’The Joy of Six’ Merchantfest ’08, Rugby. Pale, yellowy and headless. Then, there’s the beer...attractive freshly grated root ginger aroma. Ginger beer spice without bite, flat lemonade, Aspartame and sweet buttery afters. Far too cornflake-accented. Was presented with this blind and thought it was n/a. Irresponsibly sweet, almost inoffensive, left it on the shelf. fonefan (3916), Ulfborg, Denmark Aug 16, 2007 Cask (handpump) @ Robin Hood, DY8, Amblecote. Clear medium yellow color with a small creamy / fizzy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy ginger sweet. Flavor is moderate, moderate to heavy sweet with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is creamy, carbonation is flat. Ungstrup (10776), Frederiksberg, Denmark Apr 1, 2007 Cask at GBBF 2006. A hazy light yellow beer with no head. The aroma is sweet with light notes of ginger, while the flavor is sweet with stronger notes of ginger on a light malty back ground, leading to a dry end. Not my thing. Nekronos (1795), Xalapa, Mexico Sep 5, 2006 NOt my style, not because of the bitter, but because I do not find what is so good in Ginger, but I had to try. Good colour and so far, good taste, nice foam, and somewhat agreeable things.
