snuffla (46), Chch, New Zealand Jun 12, 2009 Looks gorgeous in the glass, yellow golden colour and head shows a lovely persistancy. Classic noble hop nose and toffee malt. Vaguely astringent in the finish Chrism86 (232), Melbourne, Australia May 3, 2009 Pours pale golden lemon with a nice white head. Nose is very inviting! Grassy, herbacious and citrussy all at the same time. Nelson Sauvin i assume? Palate translates beautifully, spicy, grassy, herbacious, citrussy with some underlying biscuity, grainy malt playing nothing more than a supporting role. Carbonation and palate weight is bang on, so damn good! nate2g (814), Brisbane, Australia Apr 10, 2009 Draught. Pours golden with a lively white head. Malt, cut grass and citrus. Good hoppiness for a lager. Thin-medium bodied with good carbonation. Crisp and bitter finish. A refreshing beer. It’s great to find well crafted lagers out here. DuffMan (2548), currently living in NZ, but from, Alberta, Canada Mar 14, 2009 Pous a bright golden yellow with a densely frothy thick white head showing excellent retention and decent lacing. Nice perfumey fruity hop character along with clean pale malts, perfectly balanced and in generous proportion make this one of the best lagers I’ve tried in a long time. Nicely nuanced flavour, really really good. greig (119), Hamilton, New Zealand Mar 1, 2009 I’ve been drinking a bit of this lately after not initially enjoying it and now the time has come to rate. Yellow, frothy, appetising looking. Surprisingly lacking in aroma - just a hint of citrus, and bready malt. The flavour is a lot more impressive. I swear it never used to be this good. Initial blast of interesting spicy hops (I get lemongrass, lime, and ginger) flow slowly to an almost tropical fruit flavour and finally to a lingering and delicate malty sweetness. It’s a beer I can drink in quantity, and it’s gone from being something I’ll drink if there’s nothing else interesting to something I’ll actively seek out when the weather turns warmer. thirstystirrer (13), , New Zealand Feb 26, 2009 Have tried this on tap at The Malthouse in Wellington and in bottles from Regional- Great ’intro’ beer for those new to the world of craft lager. Bright lemony straw colour with good head retention. Floral tones with a hint of cirtrus and herb, which while flavour packed is not overbearing. To be honest, I didnt enjoy this much at first however... the crisp, clean finish keeps bringing you back for another- pretty much a regular feature in my fridge now as my uninspired Becks and Stella drinking mates can handle the transition to this easier than with many other beers of this style. RogerRabbit (16), Auckland, New Zealand Feb 8, 2009 Decent enough lager, but confusingly conservative compared to other beers in the range. Nice and clear with moderate carbonation. Straw coloured. Malt and hop flavours subdued, nothing standing out. Average. yeastlove (9), Melbourne, Australia does not count Feb 2, 2009 Tried this beer at Beervana 08, clear golden in colour with strong head retention. Smelt great !! Floral hops are present with a smash of citrus.
flavoursome but not over bearing still got the refreshment factor going on... If youve ever mowed under the grapefruit tree on a stinkin hot day and theres fruit on the ground that goes under the mower and as it goes clunk clunkirrreeeen you just happen to take a deep breath... you probably deserve a beer.
