No head but it’s fresh as hell so it will come. Big big hops. Glorious fruit and grass. Citric as hell. Fantastic bitter finish carried really well by some lightly sweet malt. Excellent beer. bobinlondon (843), Harrow, Greater London, England
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 22, 2009 Handpulled and gravity cask at several JDW houses during spring fest. Light copper with an off white head. Noticably darker than the bottled version. Less assertive than I expected but I grew to appreciate this beer after a few pints. The cascade hops were at their most noticable when I sampled it on gravity at JDW Hatch End. Maybe the higher temperature or lack of sparkler but my rating is based on this sample. fonefan (11822), VestJylland, Denmark

Decent but not as good as I expected. evergreen0199 (279), London, Greater London, England
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 3, 2009 Cask at Victoria station W’Spoons. Golden beer with thin head. Crisp, fruity, hoppy and definite grapefruit presence. I was expecting more of a hop punch as I have heard good things about the original from a Kiw work colleague. One of the better offerings from the Spoons festival. DruncanVeasey (2753), The Penguin’s Arms, Europe, Warwickshire, England
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 29, 2009 Cask handpull pre-work cheeky, live from Hinckley Spoons. 31st of the 50 festival beers for me, and the only tick in the house. Dusty honey amber with a dense white collar once it’s settled down. Muted resiny citrus aroma at first with faint greenhouse notes breaking out; good squeeze of grapefruit and lemon jelly once it’s warmed up. Silky mandarin tang on the palate, conditioning very still and Burtonesque; not at all aggressive, but plenty of lemon and lime jelly and tinned mandarin hop; pale woodsy malt and a hint of oak to balance it. Chlorophyll dabs on the burp. The hops fade a bit over the course of a pint and vanilla sweetness takes over. Not the hop beast you might expect with 25 wrung into each pint, but something altogether more soft, grassy, gelatinous and nuanced, and no lesser a beer because of it. Alround rating: I got 3 bottles off luke while he was over and got to try them all v cask, they are both great and vwery similar. Citrusy pine, grapefruity aroma, caramalt sweetness is really appealing but the bitter citrusy fruity and leafy dryness is excellent. Svesse (2683), Hässelby, Sweden

Fruity, malty nose with citrus and grapefruit. Fruity taste with notes of citrus, grapefruit, biscuity malt and a generous bite of Cascade hops in the finish. Balanced bitterness, fairly dry. Very nice beer with a fresh, hoppy taste.
