Erdinger Champ is the ideal lifestyle wheat beer: it’s brewed in such a way that it can be drunk straight from the bottle, but without compromising Erdinger’s legendary flavor and high quality standards. The 0.33-liter longneck bottle with its unique opening mechanism emphasizes the lifestyle character of the new beer. In addition to its twist-open cap, the innovative bottle also features an integrated opener on the bottom for extra convenience. Simply place one Erdinger Champ on top of another to twist open the bottom bottle. As you can see, it’s always best to order two bottles and enjoy Erdinger Champ in company! Tallahassee, Fl., Liquor Loft - 11.2 oz bottle. Murky light orange pour, little to no head. Somewhat neutral aroma - not picking up much. Flavor has a hint of lemon zest, faint bananas and some yeastiness. Overall, smooth drinking, yet somewhat bland. Thiinnish, almost tinny mouthfeel.

Bottle. Lemon and wheat malt aroma. Cloudy orange-tan color with nice head. Primarily wheat malt flavor with a hint of lemon. Really more like a straight Wheat Ale - minimal Hefeweizen characteristics. The bottle opener on the bottom is cool - however Carta Blanca has been doing that for decades.

Pale yellow and cloudy. Grainy nose. Sort of generic beer taste. Slightly citrus finish. A disappointing Hefeweizen. It tasted more like a simple pale lager. The only cool thing about it is the bottle opener built into the bottom of the bottle! Now *that’s* cool!

Bottle .Pours hazy amber with a small creamy white head. Wheat malty aroma. Taste is citrus, weak bitter aftertaste.

Poured from a 12oz. bottle. The flavor is almost Belgian like... more estery and orangey than most wheats. Okay but not great - stick with regular Erdinger.

330ml bottle. Cloudy and hazy and amber in colour with a simple white head, rather small head for a hefeweizen. Not a lot of complex aromas, basic malty aroma. Zesty and lively in the mouth. Like the aroma the taste was basic, a little disappointing.

Tasting at DØE-meeting, Aarhus Syd, DK. Bottled, 150709. Golden with white head. Aroma of malt. Flavor is malt with a note of wheat and yeast.

33cl bottle poured into a weizen glass. Cloudy orange with ample creamy white head. Aroma is subtle banana, citrus, and yeast. Flavor is a very light version of regular Erdinger Weissbier. It makes for a very drinkable session beer. Good for drinking straight from the bottle and having several with the guys. If I’m wanting to truly enjoy a hefeweizen, I’ll drink something else.
