Commercial Description:
Lovers of strong beer need not worry that ERDINGER Weissbier Pikantus 'dark bock beer' is going to be too sweet, as is the case with so many bock beers. Despite the higher alcohol content, the Erding brew masters have succeeded in retaining the special Pikantus taste.

Dark brown, a little cloudy, small 1/2 inch head. Sweet wheat aroma. Palate is heavy. Flavor is fizzy medium wheat malt. Finish is a little fizzy.

Hazy brown with a quickly disappearing large tan head. Aroma of fruit, dark malts, alcohol, dates and light banana. Taste of fruit, caramel, brown sugar, alcohol, dark malts, light chocolate and sugar. Lively carbonated body has a dry finish.

Deep red/brown color with a large head. Big Munich malt aroma, lots of wheat and some toasted malt. Very thick and chewy malt flavor. Definitely seemed like biting into a thick loaf of bread. Quite yeasty. A little banana. Great.

The last time I had this I was in Germany, looked forward to trying it again and reviewing for the first time. Very dark ruby red and brownish in color. Caramel, plum, burnt sugar came through in the nose. Taste was much of the same, but more noticeable. Hints of banana and clove hidden in there as well. High carbonation with a full body to back it up. Not available near me, but a solid choice when I have the chance.

bottle, heads starts out huge and fades to crema, dusty chocolate and caramel nose, flavor gets fruity and more chocolate, feels a little watery but finishes strong and dry
