desurfer (1037), Pinellas Park, Florida, USA May 30, 2008 Clear garnet body, tall tan head. Aroma is alcoholic with an almost artificially candy sweetness. Flavor is bland and sweet, with a touch of alcohol, wheat, and not much else. As a weizenbock fan, I’m disappointed.

Sweet. A little alcoholic. a good weizen bock. Muggus69 (232), Sydney, Australia Oct 2, 2008 500ml bottle BB 01.2009. Pours quite a hazy deep bronze body, moderate sized fluffy light-tan head.
Nose really reminds me of an aged-homebrewed weizenbock; oxidised dried fruits, burnt caramel, dry wheat malt, musty earthy spice, salty yeast, port-like dark fruit nuances.
Palate is rich, thick, moderate but lively carbonation contributing to the sharpness.
Plenty of ’aged’ dark fruit on the body; prunes and date, burnt caramel adds some sweetness to the palate, tart cherry, vanilla, clove, rust, sultana and more dried fruit as it warms. Finish is slightly lactic, alcohol is allusive, with a metallic bitterness.
Such a familiar tasting beer, having brewed a few weizenbocks in my time. I’d say it’s a slightly unbalanced beer, but that seems to be half the appeal! BrewDad (1691), Olympia, Washington, USA Sep 30, 2008 330ml Bottle - Gravity Beer Market - Olympia, WA
Aroma – Light wheat aroma with a small hops coming through.
Appearance – Golden in color, Slight haze with a light head.
Flavor – A flavorful wheat beer with some hops. The light grapefruit was subtle.
Palate – Great Mouthfeel, Nice texture with a dry finish.
Overall – A very nice wheat beer and good for Oktoberfest timing.
