500 ml bottle. Pours deep brown, with a big frothy tan head. Roasted malt aroma,yeast and spices.Taste is full of dark ripe fruits, sweet malty caramel, nice bitter touch at the end. Could easy drink more than one of these.

Nov 30, 2009 Non è cattiva: nei fatti potrebbe essere la migliore Erdinger che ho assaggiato, semplicemente non è una weizenbock; i caratteri della weizen NON li ha, per dire i più pesanti nessun sentore di lievito, niente banana, poca torbidezza. Un’onesta bock forse un po’ più beverina di una doppel.

Nov 26, 2009 500 ML bottle in Germany. Drak brown color with a nice light brown crown. Aroma is a caramel, banana and bread. A bit weak but very complex. Taste is a dream, a nice mix of roasty malts with with a hint of smoke as well. Has some floral strong alcohol flavors as well. Palate ends sweet and smooth. Let warm a bit before you drink this if it was in a frige and also let the carbs settle as well. For sure Erdinger’s flagship brew. One of my top beers.

Nov 18, 2009 16,9 oz bottle. Pours copper in color with foamy tan head. Aroma roasted malt, caramel and dark fruit. Taste roasted malt, caramel and raisin with dry finish.

Nov 11, 2009 Bottle. Nice mahogany body topped by a good-sized tan head that doesn’t last very long. Aroma is toasted malt, dark sugar, a little banana. The flavor is dark fruit, bready, a little spice, cola, restrained sweetness. Prickly carbonation does detract a bit. Not that complex but still a nice easy drinker.

Oct 30, 2009 500ml Bottle@Munchen, Germany. Appearance is very dark brown and plentiful brownish head. Some apple in aroma with yeast, banana and spiciness. Flavor is weatish with some apples and alcohol. Palate has high carbonation. Stronger version of the Erdinger Dunkel which has a bit more character even though some alcohol appears on flavor.

Oct 24, 2009 Pours with a great deep brown color and a plentiful tan head. Full bodied but without an overpowering flavor. Slightly sweet and fruity and slightly bitter aftertaste that combine into one very drinkable beer.

Oct 7, 2009 ~Aroma of darker fruits, raisens and grapes. Complex aroma, good blend of scents. No alcohol scent detected.
~Pours a dark ruby brown color with good head retention.
~Dark ffruit flavors, prune mostly. slight chocolate. Also complex. Bready,
~Medium to full bodied, creamy, soe alcohol warming sensation. Moderate carbonation. hint of chocolate malt in finish.
~Damn good brew. great style. Could drink this year round!
