Commercial Description:
With a slightly darker color and slightly higher alcohol content than the classic ERDINGER Weissbier 'with fine yeast', the 'winter brew' offers a really pleasant change at the coldest time of the year, a time when we like to treat ourselves to something special. Available between November and February.

Bottle @ Cardinal Pours hazy orange, with a small white head. Weak aroma of yeast and citrus. Taste is even weaker with a crisp mouthfeel, but not great in any means.

Golden blonde colour, a little bit darker that the normal weizen, big white head. Aroma is fresh, fruity like the weizen. Tastes like a weizen, slightly more bitter, maybe beacuse of the somewhat higher ABV. A bit less elegant than the usual weizen. Average.

Bottle. Poured a deep cooper with an frothy off-white head. Aroma was full of malt and yeast notes with a bit of spice. Flavor is quite malty dominating the other flavors in the beer.

Hazy golden-amber appearance with a huge froathy and stable white head. Moderated and mild aroma of malt, caramel and banana, some light spicies. Smooth mouthfeel with an oily texture and mild flavor of malt, yeast and caramel, light spicies again. If you wait a little, some interesting taste will push through. Mild weizen to a pacefully evening in winter.

Deep golden, coppery color with huge airy, white head. Aroma has a slightly toasted malty feel with caramel, cinnamon an clove. Smooth bodied wheat beer with yeasty and spicy profile in the flavor. It has some mild toasted malty, grainy feel to it as well. It’s seems/tastes quite mild to me. I think it’s not enough warming for the "coldest time of the year", but very smooth and balanced wheat with nice appearance and moderate, but tasteful character.

bottle, pours cloudy yellow/gold with a tall white head. Aroma has notes of wheat and apple peel. Flavor is wheat and sweet malt, some honey, and some spice and a light alcohol burn in the finish. Nice and interesting.

Bottled (from beerangel.de in January). Slightly hazy golden colour with mediumsized foamy/fluffy white head. Vanishes quite fast leaving a small thick creamy head. Nice lace. Aroma is wheat, some slight citrusfruits and banana and some yeastyness. Flavour is quite much the same, but also has some mild herbal notes to it.

Clear golden coloured body with a soapy and very fast dying, active tan head. Tonnes of medium bubbles rise from the bottom and sides of the glass, like a soda. Aroma of metal, pit fruits, fresh hops, malt and more metal and blood. Medium-bodied; Strong astringent malt and a light floral taste up front fading to a light citrus, some wheat and a touch of metal in the palate. Aftertaste shows some light characteristics, but overly mild. Overall, a good beer to try - not amazing by any stretch, but worth drinking - however, I’d rather have this in the summer! I sampled this 50 cL bottle purchased from McHughes Off-License in Dublin (Howth), Ireland on 20-February-2009, sampled from home on the west side of the pond in Washington [DC] on 06-April-2009.
