mkel07 (494), Brisbane, Australia Jan 29, 2009 500ml bottle. Poured a dark tan colour with a big foamy tan head. Taste and aroma of burnt malt. Could drink more than one of these. Barnabus (29), Niagara, Ontario, Canada Jan 28, 2009 Beautiful deep, brown colour and long-lasting head. The dark malt is nice. Milder flavour that might better suit the spring (instead of winter). Caramel, hint of banana, almost no bitterness and a very short finish. emotv (331), Izmir, Turkey Jan 27, 2009 Nice ,nice , nice probably my first bottle dunkel. Amazing head stays good and love to look at bubbles on glass. Nice caramel nuts taste. Very nice beer love to drink it if i found again. biggmike (480), Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA Jan 27, 2009 Poured an attractive dark brown that was nearly black with a generous tan head that lasted a while. The aroma is a combination of fruit, chocolate, and caramel. The flavor is similar to the smell and I think the chocolate intensified a bit as the beer got warmer. The mouthfeel was pleasant. This was a good beer with good drinkability.
meeple (52), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jan 25, 2009 Bottle. Pours cloudy cocoa brown, thick cream colored head. Nose is citruisy. Just a hint of dark chocolate banana flavor before going to citrus, yeast, finishing sour. A refreshing, smooth beer but not as banana/clovey as a lot of European Hefs. Worth drinking once. Boutip (2333), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jan 23, 2009 Bottle: Poured a clear dark dunkel with a large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma of light roasted malt with light caramel and light banana aftertaste. Taste is mostly dominated by some roasted malt with a light bitter finish and some light fruity notes also noticeable. Average body with good carbonation. OK but again a style that really doesn’t appeal to me that much. KM (218), Tromsø, Norway Jan 22, 2009 Bottle. Dark brown body. Huge head. Light sweet aroma. Medium sweet flavour. Hints of licorice. Short bitter finish. (Tromsø ølfestival, 13.08.08) TheJollyOne (203), Kofu, Japan Jan 21, 2009 Dark brown with light brown head. Smell of light smoke and sweets, some banana. Taste kicks off with some yeast and lemon, then moves to smoke and rests in a roasted bread finish. Nice. Very foamy, medium fill to the palate.
