Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

I found this in the back of my beer cooler and was in need of something dark. Unfortunately, this wasn’t exactly it. In appearance I’ve got an off white dark beer. Medium in body for what I was expecting. Despite the lighter body it is balanced with a short finish. Tomorrow, I may not remember what I drank. Definitely average.

A little light for my tastes, but not bad overall. Minimal weight and staying power for such a dark colored beer.

500 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours an opaque dark brown with a hint of red and small, soapy tan head. Mild aroma with roast and toffee notes. Flavour oflight roast malt, sweet toffee and grains. Lively, fine carbonation. Not much finish. Decent, but somewhat pedestrian.

Bottle from Inn Beer shop, Lord St. Southport. For me it did what it says in the description. Dark malt was more apparent in the taste than wheat but the spicy flavour, combined with the wheat taste was very acceptable.

Bottle pours dark with a large tan head. Smells of coffee and has a roasted aroma, sweet taste with a nice dark wheat flavor.
