obguthr (986), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Oct 5, 2007 Marzipan, chocolate, and grass bouquet that actually works. Ridiculously thick tan head even with a careful pour. Mahogany color. Watery and metallic chocolate taste. Caramel finish with grass on the edge. Fairly unique and my rating reflects that. I could do without the metallic taste. fro2218 (466), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 2, 2007 Dark brown with a little lacy head. Coffee and dark chocolate with bananas in aroma. the same caries over to the flavor. Not bad. LinusStick (1830), Moon Twp, suburb of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 2, 2007 A middle of the road dunkel. Pour was a dark brown with a one finger off white head. Aroma was roasted malt and almost chocolate. In a blind smell taste I would have guessed porter. Taste was nice and carbonated with roasted malts, coffee and banana all coming in and out. Not as complex as some of the other German dunkels but good. CIPS514 (77), Lawrenceville, Georgia, USA Sep 30, 2007 And I am the second. This was a very good beer. I am surprised it wasn’t already on here. Codythegreat (133), Carrollton, Georgia, USA Sep 30, 2007 Updated: Oct 9, 2007It’s a very good beer. It looks like a porter but doesn’t really have a head. The taste and aroma are awesome. I drank this out of a shaker. tomthompson89 (1453), Toronto, Ontario, Canada Sep 29, 2007 pours with lotsa rocky beige head chestnut brown, good sweet dark malt nose, kinda musty. kinda thin mouth feel roasted flavor some choc a very small amount of maybe a bit of coffee, some dried fruits kringlan (20), Falun, Sweden Sep 22, 2007 Very light for a dark beer! Thin mouth feel and carbonated to the extreme ( which in fact is nice). Dark brown in color with off white, quickly disappearing, head. Aroma wise sweet toffee, banana, coffee and chocolate. Roasty flavor, hint of licorice along with the flavors of the aroma. Quite fruity. The watery body makes it a bit of a boring drink. Still I suppose fairly interesting… matt7215 (942), Cambridge, Ontario, Canada Sep 17, 2007 Updated: Jul 26, 2008500 ml bottle. pours dark brown with a big tan head. yeasty, roasty malt, some chocolate and hops all in the aroma. terrific complex flavours. ive never tasted one like this. quite enjoyable but something to have once in a while. great find.
