Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Pours dark brown, with red highlight. Medium tan head. Dark malty flavor, but not too dark. Medium carbonation. Got better as it warmed. Really enjoyed this one.

Bottle at home. Malty and dark. Fruity flavours as well. Caramel and roasty tastes. Too watery, I thought. Smooth finish. A bit dull overall.

Not bad at all - better than their ordinary hefe. Dark, malty flavours, aroma liquorice, some banana and spices. full bodied, tingly mouthfeel. Finish long and slightly dry. Good stuff.

Bottle 500ml and appropriate Glass. Nice dark beer, with a cloudy toffee brown dense head and a fuity aroma also the flavor is ctiric and fruity and the mounthfeel is toasted malt with a little bitterness. Boa cerveja preta, com uma espuma densa e de coloração bege, um aroma frutado e um sabor cítrico amargo, deixa um sabor de malt torrado na boca.

Pours a murky dark colour with a large lacy foamy head. Soft aroma of dried fruit, yeast and cocoa. Medium body, flavours of earth, cocoa and herbal hops giving a moderate bitterness. Yeasty towards the finish, which is otherwise slightly drier than I expected. Ticks all the boxes.

Bottle. Pours cloudy toffee brown with good creamy, 3 finger, tan head. It’s very carbonated...you can hear it fizzing. Aroma is OK not very pronounced. Some banana, bubblegum, dark fruit and malt. Mouthfeel is almost prickly, i don’t care for that. Flavor is even less impressive than the aroma. Not bad, just not stellar. This is not a bad beer it just seems a bit boring. I would drink it again if I was in the mood for a beer in this style and it were the only one available.
