Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Bottled. Cloudy nut brown, creamy head. Fruity caramelly nose without esters. Sweet with clean mouthfeel. Notes of soap, toast and wheat crackers. Medium bodied with no bitterness. Possessing very little in terms of character, and as it is also too sweet, it is neither a beer I’d drink for enjoyment nor for refreshment.

Beautifully dark brown / black. Smooth, thick, roasted coffee, raisins and maybe a little smoky taste. I’m quite new to weizes, but this doesn’t actually taste much like a weizen. Stout comes to mind with the smoothness. Very nice carbonation.

(in can, 50 cl.) Has a dark brown color, almost black, with a creamy and bronzed head, that lasts long time. The smoky aroma is a little weak with something of Malt. The flavor is very good, with some touch of Malt, smoke and coffee. The body is rather average, perhaps a little watery. A very interesting and recommendable dark beer for meals.

Nice dark appearance with a huge dense foamy baige head. Aroma is abit vague, but i sence some malty roasted characters along with a metallic scent. Flavor of roasted malts and with a smokey touch. The fruity wheat aroma comes through when the beer heats up abit. I find the carbonation to be abit over the top

Labeled as Hefe-Weizen Dark. Pours an opaque medium brown with a big head of large bubbles, that dissipates fairly quickly. Aroma is sweet malt with a metallic quality. Flavor is sweet and malty. Not much wheat character, and no bitterness to speak of. All in all pretty disappointing for one of my favorite styles.

(Bottle) Pours pretty black with red hints. Malty, wheaty light roasted and light fruity aroma with hints notes of bananas and oranges. Subtle spiciness with hints of cloves. Just a touch of grass. Light flavour with notes of bananas. Some sweet grass. Maybe some chocolate notes. Well carbonated, light to medium sweet. Tiny dryish.

Bottle. Dark hazy amber with a huge tan head. Floral aroma with some hints of coffee. Light fruity flavour with a dash of bananas. Quite soft mouthfeel.
