Commercial Description:
Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

This baby is all head, do not ariate to much. Pour cautiously. Nice brown color appears once head subsides. Definite grainy wheat aroma. Light grainy pearwheaty flavor. LIght bodies and subtle spicyness.

Dark brown fizzes on pour but not too fizzy, nice balanced malt, with a little sweetness and bitter in linger

500 ml bottle. Dark dark color with good head. Aroma is rather sweet with notes of banana and raisens with hints of malts. The smell comes through in the taste with notes of banana and raisen, malts are lost in the flavor, a little too sweet for me. Very soft mouthfeel. Not a big fan, wheat beer isn’t really my thing I guess.

(50 cl bottle from Systembolaget) Shady dark brown color, huge beige lasting head. Sweet, faint acidic scent with some chocolate. Taste is soft fruity and sweet, also malty. Soft mouthfeel with noticably high co2. Low bitterness with a sweet aftertaste.

Bottle, weizen glass, not bad decent malts, malts are more dominant than the wheat. Good taste very little yeast or alcohol present. Nice color and great head retention.

500ml. Bottle Erdinger’s Dunkel Weizen poures black with dark brown highlights. Dark chestnut when held to the light. A big frothy 3 finger tan head sits up top and slowly fades to a 1 finger head. Smells like a loaf of fresh bread. Along with hints of banana. A little sweetness. I’m smelling a nuttiness as well. Smells filling. Tastes good. It’s lighter than I thought it would be from the smell. The sweet malts are present. Lightly toasted along with that a faint touch of the wheat. Maybe just a little weak on the flavors. They could pop out a little more. Mouthfeel is good. It’s smooth with a good amount of carbonation that tickles the tongue. Drinkability is good. It’s refreshing and smooth. An easy drinker.
