Bottle conditioned.
Ingredients: Water; wheat malt; barley malt; roasted malt; hops; yeast.
A wheat beer from the good old days.
Erdinger Weissbier ’dark’ is a rich and smooth wheat beer specialty from Erdinger Weissbräu. It owes its full-bodied flavor to the fine hops and dark malt used in its production.
The dark beer specialty is brewed according to an age-old recipe. Its spicy flavor also results from the increased proportion (about 13%) of original wort. Nonetheless, at 5.6%, it doesn’t contain much more alcohol than Erdinger Weissbier ’with fine yeast’.

Chocolate and bananas. Nice combination. The best I’ve had from this brewery. A little simple though.

bottle - Pours dark brown with a substantial head. The aroma is wheat and bananas. The malt rich flavor has banana notes and seems a little light/bland for the style. Medium bodied and lively on the palate, it finishes mildly sweet.

Pours creamy brown head. Chocolate aromas some banana, dark brown colour. Crisp dry finish, low bitterness. Medium mouthfeel. Higher carbonation.

Bottle poured a cloudy dark brown with a large lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of dark fruit, brown sugar, bananas and a hint of clove. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of sweet malt, brown sugar and a hint of spice with a crisp clean finish.

Bottle.50cl. Good dunkel weissbier, but not the best, a bit too dry and the body is not that full, it needs a bit of sweetness to be just that.

Boa cerveja de trigo escura. Coloração vinho bem escuro. Espuma presente, densa e caramelada. Cheiro de cravo, suave. Sabor levemente amargo, grãos torrados com um leve tom de caramelo. Não é tão boa quanto a de trigo clara nem tão gostosa quanto a concorrente Paulaner.

Bottle. Hazy dark brown with a big mostly lasting light brownish head. Aroma of malt and some wheat, slightly smoky. Flavour of roasted malt, caramel, wheaty and yeasty, bitter hops. Malty bit sweet finish with a slight coffee touch. A good but bit too sweet Dunkelweizen.

Pours brown with large, foamy tan head. Nose is toasted malt, wheat, molasses. The flavor is rather musty, spicy with almost a peppery note, overlying banana, and chocolate. Rather sweet. Finish is somehow tongue coating. Not bad stuff.
